why do we do csa?

A CSA model helps the farm because we can secure a community base and financing ahead of the growing season. This gives us the upfront security needed to help pay for labor, materials, and more before we start selling produce at farm stands to start the season. This also helps us implement a salary model for our employees since we know how much to expect and how we can divide our time amongst the farmers to start the season. As the seasons are unpredictable, this also gives us a cushion for crop failures, injuries, potholes, etc. We work to be prepared for whatever is in store, and this model helps ensure we can do the work with more security.

what’s in my subscription?

A Full CSA share provides you with 8 items of produce a week, a half share provides you with 5 items a week. The fresh veggies are harvested weekly and are constantly rotating to expand your veg-tacular horizons. check out the list of offerings here.

How often will I get produce?

weekly

This year our shares will be on a seasonal basis. You can purchase seasonal rates or all the seasons at once.

The spring season is 5 weeks, the summer season is 15 weeks, and fall is 6 weeks.  The whole season is 26 weeks of produce.

* An “item” is an allotted amount of vegetables, i.e. 4 tomatoes or 1 bag of salad greens *

where do i get my produce?

Wednesdays: Patchwork, 2825 W Chicago Ave. from 4-7pm.

Thursdays: City Farm, 500 W Division from 4-7pm

Saturdays: Patchwork, 2825 W Chicago Ave. from 10-4pm.

* In the fall, Wednesday & Thursday pickups will end at sunset time *

** You are able to change pickup days throughout the season **

how do i pay for my share?

You will be sent an invoice, and you can pay via Venmo, Zelle, Cash/Check. You can pay the lump sum now, or you can pay monthly through an average fixed payment.

If paying by SNAP/LINK, you will pay weekly at the farmstand each week.

Everything is on a sliding scale. If you’re unable to pay on this scale, but want to participate, please reach out to us.

We will not be able to accommodate weekly payments that are not SNAP/LINK. We apologize for the inconvenience

our csa is byo-bag!

in an effort to reduce our plastic usage and overall waste impact, we encourage everyone to bring their own produce bags (or whatever you want to carry your veggies in – get creative!). we will still have bags on site for backups.

solidarity fund

Financial barriers shouldn’t stand between people and good food.
The Solidarity fund is a community-supported pool where anyone can share an amount that feels right for them. Together, these contributions help expand access to our CSA so more people can take part in a full season of nourishing food. This includes providing CSA shares to low income community members, re-filling our Love Fridge, donating fresh veggies to local food pantries, and local mutual aid food distribution.

You can make payments to this fund all season long.

A suggested rate would be $40
